A40 Park and Ride ecological landscaping
The A40 park and ride is part of an ongoing infrastructure project to create a new Park and Ride route for the residents and visitors of Oxford City.
The initial part of the project is the creation and landscaping of the Park and Ride parking hub on the outskirts of Oxford.
The landscape was designed with ecology at the forefront. The landscaping comprised species grass seeding, amenity grass seeding, shrub planting, wetland shrub planting, hedge and instant hedge planting, tree planting, whip planting and landscape maintenance.
The site was situated on heavy clay and we experienced adverse weather during the landscaping works which made planting works difficult. We worked closely with our client to ensure that we worked to a plan so we can enter areas as soon as they are handed over to us. Because of seasonality, we had tight deadlines and it was non negotiable to finish works on time and start our maintenance period.
