On Sunday May 17th 2015 Stanley Primary School Teddington opened their school pond installation constructed by PGSD Ltd. It was opened by local Mayoress Jane Boulton as part of their vibrant May Fair. The event was well attended by parents, students and local residents. Who enjoyed a band, ferret racing, mobile zoo and local pub Brouge at the Old Goat supplied refreshments. After cutting the red ribbon, the new school pond installation was open for visitors.

Children were able to take part in a variety of activities, including a quiz on the wildlife and helping to plant vegetables and plants. But most popular was the pond dipping to see what had move in already. There were plenty of insects to see and the caretaker has already spotted a newt!

They have also had a beautiful outdoor classroom installed to allow the children to learn in this fantastic environment, complete with a throne!

PGSD Ltd is delighted with how the pond is already integrated to the landscape. It was great to see the finished product being enjoyed by so many people. We were part of a group of contractors who worked on various parts of the school site in the past 12 months. The change in the overall look of the site has been interesting to see. Well done to everyone involved.

The School won a Silver Gilt award for their Living Classroom at the Richmond Borough in Bloom awards.

PGSD’s pond forms part of this.
